Step 1 Lead-in
Do you like travelling? Do you want to visit London? There are many famous and beautiful places in London. Let’s begin our tour.
Step 2 Reading
A. Know about the places of London.
1. Look at the pictures, say the names of the places and read the information about them.
Trafalgar Square(特拉法尔加广场) is the middle of London.
The National Gallery ( 国家美术馆)is a famous museum with lots of famous paintings.
Buckingham Palace (白金汉宫): The Queen lives there.
The Houses of Parliament( 议会大厦) is the political center of England. (英国的政治中心)
Big Ben(大本钟)is a famous big clock in the world.
London Eye (伦敦眼): It takes you 135 meters above the River Thames.(泰晤士河) You can see most of London on a clear day.
The Tower Bridge(塔桥)is the first bridge on the River Thames.
Tower of London(伦敦塔)is over 900 years old.

B. Read the passage.
1. Read the passage and follow the tour on the map.

Step 6 Homework
Draw a map of your journey from school to home. Mark the streets and other places on the map in English. Don’t mark your home.
虽然学生在初一上学期已经学过一些方位名词,但是对于结合地图来运用方位介词和介词短语进行场所描述的方式还很陌生,教师要在教学中加强指导,帮助学生读懂文中建筑物准确的方位信息,并能在地图上标出确切位置。学生的另一个困难是伦敦的旅游景点的识别与读音,教师可让他们课前预习,练熟读音。
这篇阅读文章学生比较感兴趣,整节课学生学习气氛比较高涨,学习兴趣浓厚,独立思考与小组合作相结合积极参与课堂活动。从课堂效果来看这节课还是比较成功的,达到了预期的教学目标。学生掌握了新单词、短语,掌握了方位介词的用法,了解伦敦的一些著名景点,能够对着地图读懂文章, 能根据地图讲清去往伦敦一些著名景点的路线,描述这些地点的位置。
这篇阅读文章以导游的身份介绍伦敦的一次短途旅行,简要描述了伦敦一些风景名胜,重点介绍了旅行线路,文章结合地图运用方位介词和介词短语进行场所描述。要求学生掌握单词、短语: tour, painting, clear, off, tower, boat, get off, turn left, go / walk past, go / walk along, on your right和方位介词的用法 。要求学生了解伦敦的一些著名景点,能够读懂对地图或一个地方的描述, 能根据地图讲清路线,描述某个地点的位置。

从课堂效果来看,我对这节课感觉还是比较满意的,个人认为成功之处有以下两点:
1.图片欣赏与阅读信息相结合
介绍伦敦的著名景点时,利用了大量精美的图片,既激发了学生的兴趣,又让他们从感官上了解这些地方的建筑与景色。这不是哗众取宠,而是文章要求了解的。另外图片下
面又配以英文简介,在观赏图片的同时又了解了景点信息。这样把文章中的景点介绍的句子提前阅读了,在后面的阅读中可以注重路线与方位了。
2.阅读后的考察有特色
这篇阅读文章与一般的文章不同,如果像一般的考察方式(回答问题,复述课文)则不适应本课,不能把握本课的要点。所以阅读后的考察我分为两步来进行:(1)Activity 3 Label the places on the map. 考察学生能不能从地图上找到这些地方。(2)How to get to the places?利用示意图考察学生会不会描述路线。通过这两个练习,让学生准确把握本课的重点。
当然,不足的地方还有很多。这节课任务大,有一定难度,所以时间上有些紧张,有的环节训练不够充分。
